About this trip
Discover the beauty, culture and natural wonders of Mauritius on this unforgettable island escape. From vibrant local markets and sacred temples to volcanic landscapes, colourful earth formations, historic tea estates and the crystal-clear waters of the Indian Ocean, this journey offers a wonderful introduction to one of the world's most beautiful island destinations.
Begin your Mauritian adventure with a warm welcome on arrival and transfer to your beachfront hotel, where you can relax and settle into island life. Explore the capital city of Port Louis and its local market before travelling into the heart of the island to visit Trou aux Cerfs, a dormant volcanic crater in Curepipe. Continue to Grand Bassin, one of Mauritius' most important Hindu pilgrimage sites, before discovering the spectacular Chamarel Waterfall and the famous Seven Coloured Earths. Mauritius is known for its volcanic origins and diverse cultural heritage, making these experiences an important part of discovering the island.
Continue along the famous Tea Route, where you will discover the history and traditions behind Mauritian tea production. Visit the colonial Domaine des Aubineaux, stroll through its gardens and enjoy views across the surrounding tea landscapes. Experience the historic Bois Chéri tea estate, Mauritius' oldest tea producer, and sample a selection of local teas before continuing to Saint Aubin, where you can experience local sugarcane products and rum.
Enjoy a day at leisure to relax at your hotel, explore the island independently or simply soak up the sunshine beside the pool or beach.
Your final full-day adventure takes you onto the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean aboard a catamaran. Keep watch for dolphins as you cruise along the coast, enjoy refreshments and lunch on board, and discover Mauritius' spectacular underwater world while snorkelling amongst colourful fish and coral reefs. Visit the lagoon around Île aux Bénitiers and admire the famous Crystal Rock before returning to your hotel for your final evening on the island.
