Delhi, formed from 7 ancient cities built over the years between the 11th and 20th centuries, is considered the most diverse city in terms of architectural styles. We will take a panoramic tour of the new city (New Delhi), which was the capital of British India, built by the Englishman Luyten as a symmetrical city with wide streets, well-kept gardens, modern villas, and government buildings. The panoramic tour will include India Gate, a majestic 42-meter-high triumphal arch, a memorial raised in honor of Indian soldiers who fell in World War I, the Presidential Palace - Rashtrapati Bhawan, the diplomatic area, and the commercial area near Connaught Place. It bears the name of the founder Birla, who belongs to a very powerful and old family. Today the name Birla is synonymous with wealth and power, the family also being known for its involvement during the struggle for India's liberation. Family members were close friends of Mahatma Gandhi, and this temple is just one of a series of temples built by them in various cities of India. Inside the temple, you enter without shoes and photography is not allowed. On the outer pillars, bas-reliefs representing Jesus Christ, Moses, St. Peter, Zarathustra, Socrates, etc. can be identified. Breakfast. We will begin visiting the "pink city," whose welcoming color was given to the buildings on the occasion of Prince Albert's visit, a city built according to Hindu urban planning rules, consisting of 9 well-defined building zones separated by wide streets, thus being the only city in the world that reflects the 9 divisions of the Universe, which we can consider a mirror of everything Rajasthan represents: culture, tradition, society, and most importantly, the people. We will visit Amber Fort, the former capital of Rajasthan until 1728, an impressive example of Rajput architecture, with stunning terraces and towers reflected in Maota Lake. On this day, we will feel like royalty, as, keeping with the old tradition, we will ascend the hill to Amber Fort on elephants, just as members of royal families once did. The fort, of exceptional refinement, with walls covered in wonderful murals, precious stones, and mirrors, was built by Man Singh I in 1592 and completed by his descendant, Jai Singh I. Beyond its robust exterior, the interior surprises with its artistic refinement. Inside, we will visit Sukh Niwas or the Palace of Pleasures, Jai Mandir or the Hall of Victory, which houses Sheesh Mahal - the Hall of Mirrors, Diwan-i-Am or the Hall of Public Audience, Diwan-i-Khas, the Hall of Private Audiences, various beautifully decorated gates, and the Charbagh Garden. Chand Baori is an ancient stepwell, one of the deepest and largest in India, with its construction dating back to the 10th century, making it one of the oldest wells in the world. Although its architecture is a millennium old, it still displays its grandeur in modern times, and the extremely arid climate of Rajasthan influences the design of Chand Baori, allowing it to keep the water as cool as possible. At the bottom of the well, the air is 5-6 degrees Celsius cooler than at the surface. On very hot days, the well was a gathering place for locals. A part of the well was reserved only for members of the royal family. We will continue our journey to Fatehpur Sikri, the former capital of the Mughal Empire and an important UNESCO World Heritage site. This historic city impresses with its monumental architecture, sumptuous palaces, elegant royal courtyards, and imposing mosques, reflecting the grandeur and refinement of a bygone era. Breakfast. In the morning we will visit the Taj Mahal, "the dream in white marble," the eternal monument of love, built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife, or as the English poet Edwin Arnold said, "the love of an emperor carved in stone." Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is the most visited monument in India and will represent the most emotional moment of this tour. According to legends, Shah Jahan wished to build a replica of the Taj Mahal in black marble to serve as his own tomb, but this desire remained only a dream, as the emperor was later buried alongside his wife in the Taj Mahal. Later in the day, we will visit the Agra Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, built during the Mughal period in an eclectic architectural style on the banks of the Yamuna River in 1565. The fort, the first residence of the Mughal emperors, is a true secular metropolis housing palaces, mosques, gardens, and pavilions. Each emperor contributed to it, making it a true "city within a city." Emperor Shah Jahan was exiled to this fort by his own son, spending his last years here with the sole consolation of being able to gaze for long periods at the Taj Mahal, the resting place of his beloved wife. The entrances are guarded by yaksha, giant creatures with flat noses, terrifying eyes, and powerful fangs, pointed toward potential aggressors. We will have the opportunity to admire the Reception Palace, the Throne Hall, the Coronation Hall, the Funeral Palace, the Guest House, and Wat Phra Keo, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, which is actually the Royal Chapel of the Palace, housing the most venerated statue in Thailand, representing an image of Buddha carved from a single piece of jade. You can then spend your last day in Bangkok strolling among fragrant stalls, vibrant temples, and cozy cafes, doing some last-minute shopping in one of the city's malls, or simply letting yourself be carried away by the charm of the metropolis on foot. Optionally, after the visit to the Grand Palace, we propose an excursion to Ayutthaya, the ancient capital of the Kingdom of Siam, founded in 1350 by Prince U Thong, who laid the foundation stone of the future capital of the kingdom, which encompassed almost the entire territory of contemporary Thailand and a large part of today's Cambodia, but was destroyed by the Burmese in 1767. Upon arriving in Ayutthaya, you will discover ruins of majestic temples, pagodas overrun by roots, and silent statues of Buddha serenely watching over the centuries. You will visit the historical park, where you can admire the ruins of numerous former temples, such as Vihara Phra Mongkol Bophit, home to the largest bronze statue of Buddha in Thailand, Wat Chai Watthanaram, with architecture similar to the Angkor Wat temple in Cambodia, Wat Phra Si Sanphet, located within the complex of an old royal palace in Ayutthaya, and Wat Mahathat, where the image of Buddha is surrounded by the roots of a tree. Continuing the day, we will visit Wat Pho, the largest temple in Bangkok, named so due to the giant statue depicting the Reclining Buddha, a gold-leafed statue, 15 m high and 46 m long, with soles beautifully inlaid with mother-of-pearl, a temple that is also the largest monastery in Thailand.
