Damnoen Saduak is located in the district of the same name in Ratchaburi province, approximately 105 km from Bangkok. According to local history, the market's existence is due to King Rama IV, who ordered the construction of a 32 km long canal in 1866 to connect the Mae Klong and Tachine rivers. Gradually, the exceptional quality of the soil in the canal area led to flourishing agriculture in the district, which attracted huge demand from consumers of fresh vegetables and fruits. We will have the opportunity to discover the traditional way of selling fruits, vegetables, and other fresh goods directly from the locals' picturesque boats. Continuing the day, we will visit the Grand Palace, founded in 1782 by King Rama I, whose imposing walls enclose an area of 259 hectares.
