Day Trip - Argeș
Route: Bucharest - Târgoviște - Nămăești - Câmpulung This trip takes us through places where history intertwines with spirituality. We will visit two former Romanian capitals and reflect in locations surrounded by fairytale landscapes. Itinerary: - Târgoviște, the former capital of Wallachia for over three centuries, starting in 1396, during the reign of Mircea the Elder. We will visit the Princely Court Monumental Ensemble. - Dealu Monastery, one of the oldest princely foundations, is the resting place of the head of ruler Michael the Brave. - Nămăești Monastery, the church carved into the rock, is located in the village of the same name in Argeș County and houses the icon considered the oldest in Romania, painted by Saint Apostle and Evangelist Luke himself. - Câmpulung - the first capital of Wallachia. We will take a stroll on the famous "Pardon" boulevard and learn its story, then we can enjoy the delicacies of the well-known "Iepurașul" pastry shop. - Negru Vodă Monastery houses the oldest preserved tombstone of a Romanian ruler. After a day full of new experiences, we head back to Bucharest.
